The Position
Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain networks and monitor and maintain help desk user support or mainframe and server operations.
The Division of Public and Behavioral Health is recruiting for an IT Technician 5. This position is located within the Office of Informatics and Technology (OIT) in Carson City. Information Technology (IT) Technicians install, configure, monitor, and maintain user desktops and software support. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. This position maintains knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques used in the installation, maintenance and support of the agency desktop environment; Help Desk response for support and maintenance of application and system problems to WAN/LAN users; upgrades and installs software and/or hardware on networked desktop systems statewide; monitoring and management of advanced/specialized agency software and inventory. As a PBH Division employee, incumbents are expected to be available for call-back during public health incidents and/or emergencies to perform duties specific to this position or to perform other duties as requested associated with a response role. This may entail working a non-traditional work schedule or at another duty station during the incident and/or emergency. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of IT work experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of network workstation hardware and software; OR one year of relevant experience as an IT Technician IV in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Special Requirements
