  Summary This position is located at Departmental Offices, Terrorism and Financial Intelligence-Intelligence Analysis. As an IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT), you will be a junior member of the team that oversees, maintains, and implements the information technology work of the organization. Responsibilities Pursuant to 50 USC 3024 (v), and with concurrence and consultation with the Director of National Intelligence and the Director of the Office of Personnel Management, this position is being established in the excepted service as an element of the Intelligence Community within the Department of the Treasury. The following are the duties of this position at the GS-09. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position. As an IT SPECIALIST (CUSTSPT), you will: - Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for OIA employees as well as contractors on issues related to end user applications, operating systems, network, and other IT issues. - Perform triage on basic end user IT incidents, network issues and service requests, providing appropriate and prompt solutions. - Manage end user accounts using a variety of software solutions. - Maintain information or information management systems. - Troubleshoot access issues for OIA employees and contractors for a wide variety of applications that leverage the Fiscal Service Active Directory, Lightweight Directory Application Protocol (LDAP), and Single Sign-On solutions. Requirements Conditions of Employment The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To qualify for the grade 05 level, you must meet the following requirements: Experience: For the GS-05, you must have three years of general experience, one year of which was equivalent to at least the GS-4 level in the Federal service. General experience includes: - Analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; AND - Planning and organizing work; AND - Communicating effectively orally and in writing. OR You may substitute education for general experience as follows: 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. We may offer opportunities for telework. We may offer opportunities for flexible work schedules. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: A one year trial period may be required. Must have, or be able to obtain and maintain, a Top Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Must be eligible for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access. Must successfully complete a background investigation. Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency. Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer. If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so. Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S. This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time.
