  Job Description:

  Collaborating with network architects to design and implement functional company networks.

  Installing and configuring networking hardware.

  Creating and implementing network security measures.

  Managing and mentoring junior Network Engineering staff.

  Conducting regular network performance tests.

  Delegating networking maintenance tasks to junior staff.

  Dealing with escalated network support issues.

  Has a deep knowledge of new IT Infrastructure technologies, processes, methodologies and best practices.

  Tracks technology and market trends to gain knowledge about new and existing technologies that could best serve Parsons enterprise architecture needs.

  Applies deep infrastructure knowledge to identify and resolve significant issues with the most complex Parsons IT systems.

  Analyzes the business case for upgrading Parsons existing infrastructure technologies or implementing a new infrastructure solution, develops recommendations for expanding existing technologies or for introducing new ones and may present the business case to Parsons senior management and IT management.

  Designs and integrates solutions that are consistent with the overall system architecture for a large and complex IT infrastructure. Utilizes design techniques that incorporate various system options, risks, costs versus benefits and overall impact to the enterprise.

  Mentors other IT professionals on the solutions developed and expected impact.

  Performs technical evaluations and proof-of-concepts that often include collaboration with vendors.

  Creates and manages select technologies in infrastructure technology strategy.

  Leads infrastructure projects, including investigation, design, build, implementation and project management. Works on multiple activities, either as a subject matter expert or project team leader.

  Oversees the design and review of technical architecture for complex multi-platform solutions.

  Performs post-implementation follow-ups to ensure infrastructure stability.

  Analyzes high-level questions, issues and problems associated with the IT infrastructure, focusing on system design and implementation.

  Develops and implements infrastructure security procedures throughout individual networks and infrastructure systems.

  Provides expertise in translating highly technical design elements to practical implementation and solutions.

  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  4-year degree in Computer Science (or related curriculum) and 10-12 years of diversified experience applying multiple infrastructure technologies and working in more than one area of infrastructure technology (network, servers, storage, desktop, IPTelephony). Experience providing direction in business analysis, system architecture and major infrastructure applications and processes for a large global enterprise. Individuals with a 2-year degree and an additional 3 years of relevant experience can be considered. Those candidates without a degree will be required to have an additional 5 years of relevant experience for consideration.

  Certifications:

  Cisco Professional Certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, etc) preferred.

  AWS Certifications (Solutions Architect, Cloud Practitioner) preferred.

  SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  Previous work experience as a networking engineer.

  Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco and IOS.

  Knowledge of networking hardware including CPUs, wiring, and routers.

  Familiarity with communication and routing protocols.

  Familiarity with network analysis tools including LogicMonitor.

  Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.

  High level problem-solving and communication skills.

  Understanding of Infrastructure components and protocols and how they fit into an enterprise architecture.

  Knowledge and understanding of industry best practices and methodologies, especially those that are necessary to tie dissimilar components together into an aggregate system.

  Solid understanding of project delivery within an Agile framework.

  Strong technical understanding of global IT infrastructure architecture

  An understanding of the strategic impacts of enterprise initiatives, the supporting IT systems and architecture.

  Ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, recommend and implement methods, procedures and/or techniques for solving the identified problems while maintaining a “holistic” approach to IT systems architecture.

  Ability to facilitate the integration of all infrastructure technologies that will support the global reach of the Parsons enterprise.

  Knowledge of the post-implementation environment and ability to follow-up implementation to ensure infrastructure stability.

  Ability to comfortably and effectively collaborate with and influence management leadership and staff in making necessary technology decisions while driving towards a scalable, supportable IT architecture.

  Written and oral communication skills appropriate for the position, including the ability to speak with authority on technical issues in various professional settings and to persuade listeners regarding best approach to resolving user's problem (may include communication via telephone, in person, presenting to large groups, community events). Ability to write complex documents (may include policies and procedures and presentations). Communicates with a wide variety of individuals (employees and all levels of management) throughout the organization and outside of the organization (i.e. clients, vendors

  Salary Range:

  $100,400.00 - $175,700.00
