Take instruction from steel foreman to maintain schedule, quality, and progress within the specifications of each job. TYPICAL DUTIES: * Follow OSHA safety guidelines * Read and understand blueprints and project layout * Measure and cut metal parts to exact specifications * Install or fabricate metal pieces into columns, girders, or other structural frameworks * Repair or replace existing steel parts of buildings and other structures * Basic crane rigging * Operation of scissor lift, boomlift, and other machinery to move metal pieces into place * Clean and maintain all tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good condition * Follow all industry and governmental regulations on safety protocols SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: * In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines * Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints * Ability to communicate effectively * Ability to lift 80 pounds * Welding Certification preferred but not required * Rigger/ Signalperson Certification preferred but not required * Have a positive work attitude * Aptitude in math * Problem-solving abilities * Punctual and On-Time * Good physical condition * Valid driver s license COMMENTS: This job description is not intended to represent a complete, comprehensive list of all duties and responsibilities that may be required in this position.
