Our expectations:
The Logistics Intern will work with other employees within the Logistics department to learn about production planning and to support improvements to the processes required for deliver on-time to our customers
What your day to day will look like:
Leading initiatives and supporting projects aimed at improving processes within Quality Management, Inventory Control and Product movement. Continuous improvement methods. and tools such as process mapping, root cause analysis/mistake proofing and values stream waste identification/elimination will be used.
Collaborating with Logistics personnel and the Continuous Improvement team to analyze the flow of product to identify opportunities and implement solutions regarding part routing and inventory reduction.
Supporting enhancements to existing production planning tools.
Participating and supporting Kaizen and/or Root Cause analysis events aimed at reducing lead time and improving material distribution/storage.
Discussing solutions with plant employees and supervisors from various departments as needed.
What you need to be successful:
Must haves:
Be eligible to work in Canada
Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship
Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired
Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering Excellent communication skills in English. French is an asset
Assets:
Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure with competing and varying priorities
Project management skills
Proficient with Excel

What my role type is:
Onsite only- 8am to 5pm/on rotation (precise working hours)
