Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school ProcessEngineering student for a paid summer internship for Summer 2024 at ourGreenwood Village, CO, Tulsa, OK, or Richmond, VA office. Imagineworking on rewarding client projects and being exposed to unparalleledtraining and development opportunities. Please check our website for Entry Level Process Engineeringpositions.Job DescriptionThe Merrick Intern Program will provide an undergraduate or graduate studentan opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of Process/Chemicalengineering by working on actual projects for our clients. The summerinternship will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity togain technical experience in a variety of process engineering items includingP&ID drawings, process simulation and engineering calculations.The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability tointerface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budgetcommitments, work independently, possess good written and oralcommunication skills and the ability to problem solve. Must meet expectationsfor attendance and punctuality.Required ExperienceKnowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer principles and calculations arerequiredBeing familiar with Microsoft Excel is preferredMust be currently enrolled and entering senior year of undergraduate degree orcurrently enrolled in grad schoolMust be pursuing an engineering degree in Chemical Engineering from anA.B.E.T. accredited programGPA of 3.0 or higher preferredExposure to PFD and P&ID drawing is a plusFamiliarity with AspenPlus, Hysys or Pro2 is a plus.Local candidates preferred.Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.Physical RequirementsRequires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.Be able to work in an environment with open discussions and visitors withoutgetting distracted.May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilitiesto perform the essential functions.Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of thisjob.Additional informationApply online only.
