Position Summary The 2024 Summer Intern will be an active member of the Infection Prevention Technologies (IPT) Mechanical Engineering Team supporting new product development of medical capital equipment, working under the guidance of STERIS engineers. This internship is for Summer 2024 (May - August), located in Plymouth (Minneapolis) MN. Duties Assist in designing, developing, documenting and executing mechanical and/or electromechanical solutions for sub-systems and components to meet company, team and group goals. Work with solid models (CREO) and engineering drawings. Collect and analyze data. Work as a collaborative team member in engineering projects. Follow industry codes, standards, and recommendations. Organize and document testing and product development process. Research various technologies and materials. Communicate results and findings. Required Experience Requires a fundamental understanding and application of mechanical engineering principles. Organizational, communication, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills. Minimum Educational Requirement: Successful completion of Sophomore level coursework or above by May 2024with a Major in Mechanical Engineering and GPA 3.4 or above.
