About Intelligence Specialist (Staff Management)

  Summary About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 704th Military Intelligence Brigade, 742nd Military Intelligence Battalion Army Cryptologic Office Fort Shafter, HI. Responsibilities Serves as Indo-Pacific Region forward representative of the Army Cryptologic Office (AOC). Operates as a primary SIGINT operations advisor and future planning strategist for ASCC; engages and collaborates with the National Cryptologic Representative (NCR) and their staff, other NSA/CSS offices, and COCOM SIGINT elements. Supports cryptologic planning and operations coordination for Army units assigned, aligned, projected, and deployed throughout the USINDOPACOM region. Reviews, coordinates, and advises regarding USARPAC SIGINT collection requirements, APTCAE SIGINT technical control support requirements, and operational planning considerations and associated tracking mechanisms. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. One year of experience: providing Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) operation oversight utilizing United States SIGINIT System (USSS), United States Signals Intelligence Directives (USSIDs) and SIGINIT Operational Tasking Authority (SOTA). And experience providing Cryptologic training and development/sustainment planning and execution to support organizational mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS- 14). Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Intelligence Staff Management Planning and Evaluating Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) Dissemination Technical Competence Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
