Under direction from the Assoc. Manager, PatientSupport Services and pharmacists in the Specialty Pharmacy, the IntakeSpecialist Iis primarily responsible for enrolling new SpecialtyPharmacy patients and ensuring that all pertinent patient information iscontained within the record. Patient information shall includedemographics, allergies, medication history, comorbidities, and payerinformation. The Intake Specialist I\'s main objective is to place phonecalls to new and existing patients, answer phone calls and contact thedoctors and patients via fax or phone or other communication means. TheIntake Specialist I is also responsible for accurately translatingprescription information and all other information obtained to dispensethe medication into the pharmacy dispensing software. The IntakeSpecialist I may also be responsible for obtaining information andassisting providers and insurance companies in triaging priorauthorizations for patients of the specialty pharmacy. The SpecialtyPharmacist is accountable for verifying the prescription entry.
