  The Role

  Job Summary

  We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated In-House Construction Attorney to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support related to construction projects, contracts, and disputes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about the construction industry and wants to make a meaningful impact.

  Responsibilities and Duties:

  Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts, including design contracts, construction contracts, and subcontracts.

  Provide legal advice and guidance to project teams on construction-related issues, risk management, and compliance.

  Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure contract terms and conditions are met.

  Assist in the resolution of construction disputes, including claims, change orders, and delays.

  Assist with payment disputes and resolution.

  Works closely with external legal counsel when necessary.

  Evaluate possible legal risks and liabilities within the company's operations. Formulate strategies for efficiently mitigating and overseeing these potential risks.

  Conduct legal research and analysis to stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.

   

  Qualifications

  Education

  Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  Work Experience

  Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an attorney with a focus on construction law.

  Licenses and Certifications

  Active license to practice law in New York, New Jersey or Florida.

   

  Skills

  Strong understanding of construction industry practices, contracts, and damages.

  Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

  Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
