About Infrastructure Engineer I

Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and ensure these risks are effectively identified and escalated to be measured, monitored and controlled.

  The Opportunity

  Tasks: Identify and manage existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role. Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Follow written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities. Design scalable infrastructure with minimal oversight, implement system change with consistency and autonomy, automate service delivery and maintenance tasks, and build monitoring and tooling for systems. Resolve complex production issues with independence by troubleshooting complex systems independently. Analyze complex outages to identify opportunities. Experiment with new patterns and technologies. Understand and consistently exercise engineering best practices, concepts, and patterns. Understand the customer and identify solutions and ideas for the customer with some assistance. Evaluate potential solutions with some oversight. May telecommute. (Ref: 20972.200.5)

  Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in an engineering-related occupation. Position requires:

  Building, installing, upgrading, and migrations of Cassandra and Couchbase;

  Install NoSQL databases on new nodes from scratch and tuning the clusters;

  Linux operating system with shell scripting;

  Python scripting;

  Ansible for automation and orchestration in Cassandra platform;

  Server provisioning tool: Anvil;

  Building Prometheus server from scratch and publishing metrics;

  Creating dashboards in Grafana;

  Building Opscenter servers for Cassandra monitoring and scheduling backups or repairs, and documenting backup or restore procedures;

  Handling incident calls to resolve database issues and performing root cause analysis;

  Performing data center migration and documenting plans and procedures;

  Analyzing logs via Elastic search and Splunk;Service Now;

  Password Safe Tool; and

  DB Inventory Tool.
