Our primes Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) is looking for a knowledgeable, motivated, and hardworking Information Systems Engineer. The Information Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's information systems infrastructure, with a particular focus on Red Hat Linux environments. Specific duties also include providing support for primes DevSecOps initiatives through design, implementation, and management.

responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Support end-user IT devices life-cycle management (provisioning, deploying, patching, maintaining, backups, security, networking)
Conduct IT and security assurance systems research and integrate technologies into complex electronic systems.
Design and maintain IT systems to support various sponsored research projects.
Implement and maintain client and server software used to support project management and software development.
Support Cross Domain Data Exchange and Systems Integration
Serve as a primary implementor of Infrastructure as Code for configuration management solutions.
Oversee Virtual Machine management.
Validate security control configurations on systems and ensure all systems are configured for necessary controls, such as STIGS, CMMC, and other similar requirements.
Actively collaborate with sponsors and external teams in order to derive tasks from detailed requirements.
Provide tasking to other team members, based off of derived tasks.
Provide software and merge request code reviews.
Serve as the primary gatekeeper for infrastructure as code merges.
Additional Responsibilities
Serve as a subject matter expert in Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) operating systems.
Manage the lifecycle of Linux VMs and physical servers including provisioning, routine patching & maintenance, and decommissioning in accordance with GTRI security policies and procedures.
Implement security measures specific to Red Hat Linux to safeguard information systems and data.
Assist end users and developers as needed to ensure a quality end user experience and overall success of GTRI's mission.
Act as a Linux consultant/subject matter expert to end users.
