The Information Specialist is a high-profile position that demands aprofessional, energetic, efficient, and friendly personality. This staffmember is primarily responsible for assisting with the day-to-dayoperations of the Visitor Center, giving directions and referrals tolocal businesses and recreations locations. In addition, the Specialistworks with and is accountable to the Cannon Beach Chamber Office Managerand Executive Director. Employees at the Visitor Center have a setschedule and are expected to work weekends and during Chamber events asneeded. This position is required to work most weekends and is an hourlyposition that includes benefits. Duties and Responsibilities: * Greet,assist, and direct visitors to Cannon Beach businesses in a friendlymanner. * Answer phone and e-mail inquiries. * Assist with outgoingmail. * Maintain and update daily records and reports. * Handle andreceive daily sales transactions. * Daily cleaning, including sweepingfloors, cleaning windows, and wiping down counters. * StockingInformation Center with appropriate visitor guides, brochures,merchandise, and other materials. * Other duties and projects asassigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * Knowledge of the CannonBeach area is required. * Previous experience in working with thepublic. * High School diploma required. Some college and/or degree area plus. * Knowledge of office systems, including phone and copymachines. * Computer software skills including Word, Excel, and Outlookrequired. * Experience in customer service and hospitality ispreferred. * Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mostweekends, holidays, and as needed for Chamber-related events. * Abilityto occasionally lift up to 40 pounds preferred but not required.Residency in Cannon Beach is preferred but not required. Compensation:This position is a full-time, year-round position that includes abenefits package with some Holidays, and Medical, Dental, and LifeInsurance Coverage. Pay range from \$15-\$18 per hour.
