JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB ID: 20421 POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to theAssociate Vice President, this position will program, consult, advise,train and/or analyze operations within the Equity, Diversity, Inclusionand Belonging unit to foster a supportive environment. MAJORRESPONSIBILITIES Participates in the development, implementation, andexecution of projects, programs, and committees to promote inclusiveexcellence initiatives. Plans and manages events of varying sizes andpurposes (i.e. award ceremonies, PB Poorman, SDO Retreats and others).Functions as liaison to the Universities of Wisconsin EDI workinggroups. Leads/manages administrative matters pertaining to DEIeducation, including meeting with constituents to consult on potentialworkshops, having follow-up meetings, and scheduling workshops. Managesgraduate assistant and fellow selection process, supervises graduateassistants and fellows. Assists with compiling Board of Regent reports.Manages/updates office website and list servs. Provides administrativesupport for professional development activities. Coordinates theupdating of policies and procedures. Works on special projects asassigned by the Associate Vice President. Coordinates recruitment andhiring for the office as needed. Participates as a member of projectteams as assigned by the Associate Vice President. Oversees budgetmaintenance procedures for the office, including preparing purchaserequisitions/purchase orders; and managing travel-related expenses,external memberships, reimbursements, reconciliations, and otherbudget-related issues. WORK LOCATION The office location is in Van HiseHall, 1220 Linden Avenue, Madison, Wisconsin 53706. The work schedulewill be consistent with the current UW Administrations work schedulepolicy, which may include up to four days per week in-office scheduleand one day remote. Excellentinterpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety ofstakeholder groups. A demonstrated, high-level ab lity to prioritizebetween many diverse assignments, escalate and resolve issuesindependently, and operate under tight deadlines. Knowledge, skill, andability in all aspects of event planning (i.e. planning event details,maintaining the budget, establishing relationships with vendors, etc.).Experience in analyzing and synthesizing a variety of inputs to createreports and other documents in a variety of formats. Keen attention todetail, action-oriented, excellent organization skills and demonstratedability to move forward multiple projects simultaneously. Criticalthinking skills. Knowledge of the fundamentals of purchasing, and traveland expense reporting.
