  The Research Team within the Lilly Diabetes, Obesity, and Complications Therapeutic Area is dedicated to advancing the field by focusing on the exploration and preclinical development of novel therapeutics targeting Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) and Obesity. We are actively seeking an experienced in vitro biologist to lead the development, validation, and execution of in vitro and cell-based pharmacology assays for ongoing drug discovery initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated proficiency in implementing in vitro assays, consistently adhering to detailed protocols, and delivering comprehensive data assessments. Collaboration is key, as the selected candidate is expected to work closely with the ASCVD, Obesity, and Incretin Discovery groups within a team-oriented environment, providing expertise and support to other groups as required.

  Responsibilities

  Apply innovative automation to enable compound screening in 384-well assay format or greater. Experience with multidrop liquid dispenser, echo liquid handler, is preferred.

  Critically evaluate data using NGR data analysis software.

  Perform cell culturing and molecular biology/biochemistry techniques, including nucleic acid transfection, stable or transient cell line generation and evaluation, and gene expression profiling (qPCR).

  Design and perform assays within the field of receptor pharmacology, encompassing tasks like receptor binding and functional cellular readouts, including cAMP, phosphorylation, calcium, and other relevant biomarkers. Additionally, employ molecular biology techniques such as ELISA, SDS-PAGE, and Western blotting.

  Basic Qualifications

  Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology or a closely related field

  Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease (ASCVD) and/or Obesity drug discovery experience

  Additional Skills/Preferences
