　　Job Title: HVAC Technician

　　Essential Duties and Responsibilities: --

　　Enrollment in HVAC apprenticeship program, including schooling and paid job training—costs covered by employer

　　Repair and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including:

　　Read system gauges and instruments and adjust

　　Screw, bolt rivet, weld, and braze parts to assemble system components

　　Lubricate fans, motors, control units, etc.

　　Install wiring

　　Cut, thread, weld, and connect pipe

　　Troubleshoot system malfunctions and discuss with users to isolate problems

　　Utilize a computerized maintenance management system for work orders

　　Prepare reports as needed

　　Keep work area and facility clean and neat

　　Qualifications:

　　High school diploma or equivalent

　　Driver’s license

　　Basic electrical and mechanical skills

　　Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as email

　　Ability to read and write in English, familiarity reading blueprints and technical materials a plus

　　Command of basic mathematics, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and simple algebra and geometry

　　Experience working in the trades or adjacent industries preferred

　　Familiarity with HVAC equipment, air compressors, plumbing systems, etc. preferred

　　Familiarity with OSHA regulations, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out and HAZCOM guidelines a plus

　　Working Environment and Physical Demands:

　　Will work in full range of indoor and outdoor conditions

　　Will work at heights above 15 feet

　　Will be exposed to noise levels above 80 dBA

　　Must be able to lift 50 pounds

　　Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time

　　Must be able to bend, push/pull, twist, stoop, squat, lift, crawl, and climb

　　Must be able to use hands to manipulate, handle, or feel

　　Must have strong vision, including ability to see close and long distances, distinguish a full range of colors, and focus eyes
