If you are looking to build a strong career, we have an opportunity for you! We are searching for aHuman Resources Representative to join our team located at our facility in South Boston, VA.

  Your Role:

  The Human Resources (HR) Representative works with RCP’s new, current and former employees to assist in the hiring, administration and training processes. HR Representatives must adhere to all the rules and policies of the organization as well as ensuring RCP’s practices comply with all local, state and federal regulations. HR Representatives work under the supervision of an HR manager, but many duties are performed with little or no supervision. The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities required of the employee.   You will have the opportunity to:

  Provide HR support to plant population including employee relations on a variety of issues.

  Coordinate the pre-employment testing, background checks, physicals and onboarding of new hourly and salaried employees.

  Respond to employee questions and complaints regarding a wide variety of issues (benefits, work schedules, transfers, promotions, safety, unfair treatment, performance, personal issues, pay, and company policies).

  Communicates with the plant and company employees concerning the RCP benefits program.

  Process hourly and salaried payroll transactions, such as COS forms, bonuses, payouts, retirements, new hires and terminations.

  Assist with maintaining personnel, medical, FMLA and termination files.

  Coordinates with the Short Term Disability provider and communicates with shop floor supervision STD employee statuses, return to work dates, approvals and extended coverage dates.

  Compiles and maintains company EEOC and Affirmative Action reports.

  Assist with response to EEOC, DOL and unemployment claims.

  In locations where applicable, responsible to comply with the SQF and GMP practices and programs to ensure safe food packaging product and to report food safety problems to those with authority to take action.

  We need you to have:

  High School diploma or equivalent.

  1+ years of related professional and progressive Human Resource experience preferably in a Manufacturing environment.

  Proficient in MS Office.

  Knowledge of applicable state, federal, local employment labor laws and regulations.

  Skills in handling conflict resolution situations.

  Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues.

  Ability to be discreet with confidential information and sensitive issues.

  Ability to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.

  Minimal travel required.

  Icing on the cake:

  BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.

  Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures used in the Consumer-Packaged Goods and/or manufacturing industry preferred.
