This internship is long-term (up to 2 years) and will be working on-site at the Lakeland, Florida facility. Working as a member of the Human Resources team, this position primarily performs day-to-day department tasks in effort to better serve our employees and the business. We are looking to hire an entry level intern who is excited to learn the facets of HR and demonstrates superior organization and communication skills. Responsibilities A Typical Day in The Life of our HR Intern Might Include: Full life-cycle of recruiting process Requisition submittal in HRIS system Shaddow intake calls with hiring manager and senior HR team members Screen candidates in HRIS system according to hiring manager's desired qualifications Book initial interviews with qualified candidates and senior HR team members Shaddow HR team members and hiring managers during interviews with candidates Draft offer letters for qualified candidates according to approved compensation Other recruiting tasks as assigned New hire preparation Completion of new hire checklist Book onboarding on employees first day with apropriate departments Prepare virtual new hire packet and print documents for signature Create and maintain new hire's employee file Other preparations as assigned Maintain and improve filing system Maintain paperless files for all current employees Maintain paperless filing system for terminated employees Shred documents according to retention laws Maintain spreadsheet for all current temp employees Other filing as assigned Assist team members with ongoing HR projects Progression planning Training and development Employee Engagement Other projects as assigned Distibute reporting data to proper department heads Run month end reports Other reporting as assigned This is a part time role where the employee will work 15-30 hours per week. The employee will report to our Lakeland site within operation hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Qualifications We Are Looking For Candidates Who: Must reside in Lakeland, Fl or surrounding area for the length of the internship To be eligible for the internship, candidates must be working on a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Management or related field, or be a recent graduate. Prepare, maintain and process a variety of confidential correspondence, records, reports and communication Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. Strong organization skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and activities Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
