Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity in New York for a Human Resources (HR) Assistant. This role sits within the nonprofit industry and will focus on managing various HR functions such as interviews, candidate tracking, and electronic filing. The candidate will also be expected to provide support for the reception desk and involve themselves in recruiting for various roles.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate interview schedules.

• Utilize the system to accept or reject candidates based on evaluation.

• Assist in editing resumes to ensure they are comprehensive and attractive.

• Develop and maintain spreadsheets to track candidates effectively.

• Handle electronic filing to ensure smooth and efficient document management.

• Stand-in for reception duties when necessary, primarily on Fridays.

• Participate in the recruitment process for various roles

• Implement and manage benefit functions to ensure employee satisfaction and compliance.

• Comply with all regulations and policies during recruiting efforts.

• Assist in other HR-related tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Possess a minimum of one year of experience in a Human Resources role

• Proven experience in Compliance within a Human Resources context

• Experience in Recruiting Efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Proficient in using HR databases and software

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
