The HR Generalist will consult and be under the direction of the HR Director, provide consultative leadership on business challenges and associated people and organizational implications.
Lead and support human capital planning, change management, organizational consulting and design and diversity, inclusion and engagement initiatives while utilizing business process principles.
Provide strategic thought leadership with a global perspective and champion the values and culture of the organization. Productively challenge the status quo and voice innovative observations, questions and ideas.
Work with a moderate degree of independence under a more senior HRBP on-site and will support a subset and less complex client group.
This is an 18 month contract opportunity directly with our company.
This role is based in our Athens, GA location with some flexibility.
Duties & Responsibilities
Function as an internal consultant to leaders in achieving business goals. Advise and guide management on organizational effectiveness, especially the alignment of processes, systems and people.
Consult with individual employees and first line managers on operational topics (pay, HR data, letters, progressive discipline)
Lead and assist with change by partnering with HR business partners and business leaders on planning, implementing and communicating necessary changes and involving employees.
Partner with different stakeholders and departments in implementation of site employee engagement initiatives (develop ideas, provide direction, partner in execution)
Track, administer, and occasionally facilitate coaching plans
Partner and collaborate with other HR functions as required: liaise with centralized Employee Relations department, support OD learning strategy within client group, partner with Compensation Management on new approaches, etc.
Liaise closely with our GBS Center (Employee Service Center) to assist and advise on time & attendance system and payroll topics
Assist with on-site New Employee Orientation related activities
Provide project management support for ongoing People projects and initiatives
Partner with Site HR Business Partner on all other HR related topics as needed
Approve offers, new requisitions, rehire eligibility, and assist in selection for certain positions
Requirements
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources or related experience
Demonstrated change leadership, internal consulting, organization and talent assessment and development skills.
Demonstrated ability to influence, communicate and build relationships at all levels, and to link business objectives with HR activities.
Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
Demonstrated analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Committed to continuous improvement.
Understanding of US Employment Law
Occasional travel to Duluth or Gainesville required
