  Under supervision, you'll play a key role in our Human Resources Division by performing diverse administrative duties for the Human Resources Division to support divisional goals. From collaborating with departmental managers, Leave of Absence Supervisor, Occupational Health Nurses, and HR Business Partners on various tasks related to AMERICAN Policies, Procedures, and Benefit Plans to providing support for employment activities, job processing, file maintenance, wage evaluations, and communication with stakeholders.   The current opening of HR Associate is for the Benefits and Payroll department within the HR division. Please note that in this role you are subject to departmental transfer within the HR division.

  Ideal Candidate:

  Education/Experience Consideration:(must meet at least one of the following education/experience criteria to be considered)Bachelor's Degree Consideration:Exhibit a bachelor's degree in human resource management, Personnel Management, or Industrial Relations from an accredited four-year college or university.Education + Experience Consideration:Consideration given to candidates with other bachelor's degrees who have recent work experience in Human Resources.Experience Consideration:Alternatively, consideration will be given if you do not have a bachelor's degree but exhibit a minimum of five years of recent work experience in HR-related roles.Analytical Skills:Demonstrate the ability to analyze situations and react in accordance with Company Policy and Procedures.Technical Proficiency:Prior experience with PC using word processing and spreadsheet software (Excel, Word) and database software. Must demonstrate skills.Clerical Experience:Previous clerical experience handling various office tasks such as correspondence, reports, phone calls, invoices, filing, etc.Flexibility:Subject to departmental transfer to other HR Associate positions within the Human Resources Division.Travel:Ability to engage in light outside company travel (Career Fairs, Campus recruiting trips, conference training, etc.).HRIS Knowledge:Prior experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (Cyborg and/or KRONOS).Additional System Experience:Previous experience working with a learning management system, performance appraisal system, or applicant tracking system.Benefits and Payroll Key Responsibilities:

  Administer eligibility for the AMERICAN Medical and Dental Plan, including Traditional Medical Plan, Medical Choice Plan, and other benefit plans.Coordinate with third-party administrator for Cobra.Provide life insurance enrollment info to new employee's post-probation.Monitor medical dependents' eligibility.Assist Manager of Benefits and Payroll in various benefit plan administrations.Maintain and distribute service awards records.Assist employees and pensioners with Medical and Dental bill inquiries.Cover HR Help Center, handling calls and assisting with benefit-related forms.Perform clerical duties, including correspondence, compliance reports, and filing.Process requests for employment verification and maintain spreadsheet.Coordinate Service Award selections and orders; handle address updates.Schedule reservations, meetings, trips, and employee elections.Update files for deceased employees and pensioners, issue funeral notices.Manage Scholarship Fund, Charity Fund Deductions, and emergency contacts.Process BCBS mail, assist with subrogation letters, and support payroll operations.Input court-ordered payments and maintain payroll processing procedures.andle payroll adjustments, miscellaneous deductions, and issue cash vouchers.Create and ensure correct functioning of ID cards.Maintain records on terminated employees and process HR reports.TalentAcquisitionandDevelopmentKey Responsibilities:

  Coordinate and conduct PC skills and typing skills evaluations for eligible candidate pool.Assist in daily department functions, prioritizing tasks to meet goals.Manage placements of temporary personnel requisitions, ensuring compliance with policies and legal guidelines.Schedule appointments for internal and external candidates, guiding completion of company forms.Order books and materials for Eagan College classes, manage LMS software, and handle check requests.Type/enter correspondence, reports, requests, certificates, etc., distributing as needed.Select and ensure proper insurance of agencies for temporary needs, process invoices, and generate monthly Temp Report.Accept and review applications, ensuring completeness and required documents.Coordinate candidates for plant visits, interviews, and travel for college career fairs.Perform Targeted Selection interviews, serve as an Assessor, and assist in the employment process.Maintain records and reports for the AMERICAN Apprenticeship Program.Manage disciplinary records, including Discipline Committee Minutes.Enter information for various deductions, emergency contacts, and tax details.Assess entry-level manufacturing applications, make job offers, and coordinate pre-employment screenings.Monitor entry-level manufacturing reports, keep Manager updated on application status.Post jobs in Applicant Pool, create bid verification forms, and work on internal vacancy files.Correspond with candidates, hiring managers, and complete paperwork under HR Business Partner direction.General HR Associate Responsibilities:

  Identifies need and assists in development and implementation of new and revised recordkeeping systems from manual systems to computer processes.Maintains files and records in a neat and organized manner and ensures that this information is always accessible whenever needed. Answers incoming telephone calls and refers callers to the appropriate personnel and/or takes messages as needed and makes calls as requested.Enters information as requested into the various Human Resources databases.Assists with the preparation of presentations as needed.Assists with special projects, community events and participates in various continuous improvement teams.Assists the Talent Acquisition and Development Department with targeted selection interviews as needed. The HR Business Partner will provide lead direction with coordinating and monitoring the collection of interview data, candidate's office visit/targeted interview, selection, placement procedures, on-boarding, write-up, etc. Ensures that employment activities meet company guidelines and are legally defensible. Prepares all correspondence, feedback papers, file record forms and/or reports according to established guidelines. Analyzes and interprets interview data.Assists with local recruiting activities as needed. Opportunities with other recruiting activities outside the local area may be available as well.Research records, produces documents and prepares statistical reports as needed for special projects.Responsible for distributing departmental mail as needed.AMERICAN Bene
