The Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact is a billion-dollar initiative designed to fast-track scientific discoveries and the process of turning those discoveries into innovations that improve the quality of life for people in Oregon, the nation, and beyond. The Knight Campus Business Operations and Administration Team (BOAT) operates as a hub of experts who provide high-quality, exceptional business operations and administrative services to all units and programs in the Knight Campus. Service areas include full-cycle activities in human resources operations, financial operations, research administration/operations, academic administration/operations, and general business operations. The BOAT provides business services to all Knight Campus units, which are growing remarkably as we scale up to achieve our mission of science advancing society with a vision to dramatically shorten the timeline between discovery and societal impact through world-class research, training, and entrepreneurship.
Position Summary
The Knight Campus seeks a detail-oriented, resourceful, organized, and communicative individual to provide high-level support for our human resources operations.
The Human Resources Coordinator (HRC) will be responsible for a broad set of assignments related to the Knight Campus HR portfolio with a focus on the full life cycle of recruitment, hiring, and onboarding. This position will require the ability to work independently, demonstrate sound judgment, and exercise creative problem-solving skills while providing high-level talent acquisition support to Knight Campus faculty, staff, and special programs. Responsibilities include coordinating faculty and staff recruitments, drafting position descriptions, gathering position comparison data, facilitating meetings, explaining policies and best practices, managing onboarding transactions, generating and preparing formal documents, project coordination, and interfacing with internal and external audiences to complete hires.
This position serves as a vital communication link and is involved in many sensitive and confidential issues, policy development, and processing of documentation and/or conversations related to personnel actions associated with personnel of the Knight Campus.
This position will report directly to the Associate Director of Human Resources (ADHR) and will be an essential role on a growing team. The HR Coordinator will be a crucial element of the support structure that is necessary for the billion-dollar academic, research, and innovation enterprise of the Knight Campus.
Minimum Requirements
• Two years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations; OR
• An equivalent combination of training and experience.
One year of postsecondary education may be substituted for up to one year of the experience.

Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor or advanced degree in Business, HR, Management, Public Administration, or a closely-related field.
• 3 years of progressively responsible human resources-related administrative support experience.
• 1 year of experience coordinating projects from start to finish.
• Experience handling confidential materials.
• Experience providing customer service in a professional environment.
• Experience with BANNER, PageUp, and/or similar applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and other software programs including HRIS/FIS platforms, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Docs.
