Summary
The Restaurant Host is to interact with all guests and ensure they have a great experience when dining at the Hotel. The Host will promptly welcome every guest to the restaurant and escort them to their table. The Host is to ensure that all guests' needs and expectations are exceeded, and to efficiently and effectively resolve any issues to the guest's satisfaction. S/he will be responsible for the following:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Greet guests and patrons personally as they enter the establishmentAnswer telephones using appropriate etiquetteAccept to-go orders over the telephoneReceive and record dining reservations on the telephoneEnsure the proper setup of dining roomEnsure dining room seating is controlled and that there is server parity in number of tablesEnsure neatness and cleanliness of stations.Present menus, make recommendations and take orders if necessaryAssist other food and beverage staff when necessaryLiaise between staff and customers to ensure great serviceEnsure personal appearance is neat and professionalAnticipate and address guests' service needsAssist individuals with disabilitiesThank guests with genuine appreciationComply with quality assurance expectations and standardsFollow all company safety and security policies and proceduresPREREQUISITES:
Prior food and beverage industry experience preferredPrior guest relations trainingAbility to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understandingStrong written and verbal communication skillsPositive, upbeat attitude and personalityAbility to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervisionPunctuality and reliable attendanceInterpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the publicPhysical Demands:
Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as reaching, extending arms over head, bending and stooping.Ability to lift, bend, stoop, push or pull. Requires carrying trays of food and bus trays of dishes up to 25 lbs.Ability to push or pull a vacuum or wheeled cart weighing up to 25 lbs.Secondary Responsibilities:
Bus tables and assist with processing dirty dishes if necessaryClean all front of the house areas including windows, light fixtures and entrance as assignedFill water bottles, cut fruit, roll silverware, and complete other service-related tasks as assigned
