As an Independent Contractor, your primary responsibility is to maintain asafe and healthy home environment for the individual supported.Caring for individuals is more than just helping people with their dailyactivities. It is assisting in cultivating life skills and fosteringindependence. You will be sharing your home with an individual, not justhaving someone live in a room in your home. Sharing your home meansparticipating in activities, sharing chores and matching interests andlifestyles.
An independent Contractor (IC) will welcome an individual with adisability to reside in their home. IC's support the individual by providinga safe and nurturing home environment to foster personal growth andindependence. Duties vary for each individual from minimal support (i.e.,budgeting, medication, transportation, activities of daily living orADL's) to full support (i.e., dressing, toileting, feeding,positive behavioral support, etc.). As an Independent Contractor, ourorganization will assist you with identifying an individual that is welcomedinto your home and best fits your family dynamic.
Responsibilities include:
Provide support for tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry,budgeting, decision making, etc.Skill acquisitionMedication administrationMedical appointmentsSupport with overall health and well-beingDaily documentation via web-based case management application (THERAP)Provide fun and leisure experiences to the individual by providingopportunities of community inclusion, integration and socializationCompliance with all state/agency policy and proceduresCommunicate effectively with team members as neededSupport physical needs of individual servedProvide transportation
Possible responsibilities depending on your preference:
Assistance with bathing, toileting, feeding, behavioral support, etc.Provide support for medical protocols, such as seizure, fall, feedingtube, etc.Care for someone with complex physical/medical needs (i.e., hearingimpaired, vision impaired, non-ambulatory, etc.)Potential support of behavioral issues.
Requirements:
Transportation, valid driver's license, car insurance and current registrationActive home/renters insuranceMust be at least 18 years of ageExperience preferred but not requiredReliable computer and internet accessComplete all state mandated trainingsEnvironmentally safe and clean residenceAbility to pass State/Federal and APS/CPS background check
