JOB PURPOSE:
The Home Health Clinical Consultant plays a crucial role within PruittHealth's North Carolina Home Health division. This position is integral to achieving clinical excellence and ensuring compliance with all regulatory groups. The consultant actively contributes by making recommendations and suggestions for improvement, providing education, mentoring, and validating required processes. Analyzing clinical processes, tracking data, and monitoring compliance against national benchmarks are key aspects of this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Support Visits: Conduct Home Health support visits in accordance with company standards to ensure the ongoing progression of clinical goals and improvement plans.
Clinical Denial Review: Review clinical denials for admission, assessing appropriateness, and identifying clinical competency and program development needs.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all Home Health locations have current resources for regulatory requirements. Provide frequent education on current and new regulatory requirements, interpretative guidelines, and the survey process.
Education and Support Plan: Develop a proactive education and support plan based on comprehensive quarterly clinical reviews and outcomes. Ensure the effectiveness of patient care processes.
Communication: Collaborate with the clinical team and leadership for division.
Safety and Policy Implementation: Provide clinical expertise and support the implementation of policies and procedures for workplace safety, including infection prevention/control procedures, universal precautions, and handling hazardous materials.
Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement: Serve as a member of the Region Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Team. Collect and organize clinical data for review and trend analysis.
Communication Point of Contact: Act as a key communications point of contact for Home Health clinical operations at professional clinical services.
Continuous Learning: Attend seminars and workshops related to Home Health to stay updated on Medicare/Medicaid/OSHA state rules and regulations, Joint Commissions, and other applicable regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Able to travel - this is a multi-state position. (80% Remote, 20% travel)
Travel to focus on North Carolina with occasional visit to PruittHealth corporate office in Atlanta, GA.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree or BSN required
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Experience: 5 years of Home Care/Home Health experience and 3 years of Leadership experience.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Licensure/Certification: Must be a Registered Nurse OR Licensed Therapist (PT, OT, SLP) in the practicing state and in good standing.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)
Knowledge of Home Care/Home Health operations and federal and state regulations.
HomeCare HomeBase – HCHB Software and Microsoft Office Experience specifically to include Excel and PowerPoint.
Must have a working knowledge of PI principals and techniques.
Must know methods to comply with the regulations.
