About Highway Maintenance Operator

　　TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely operates light and heavy equipment in a constantly changing environment to perform highway and bridge maintenance functions. Performs related skilled, semi-skilled, and manual labor to maintain parks, county buildings, public drainage systems, and other public works projects as required. Assists in county traffic services which include assisting in sign making operations, installation of new signs and posts, and repair of existing signs. Performs "call-out" assignments as required. They may be called upon to call others to come in to work in the absence of the foreman, and the superintendent. Performs truck driver safety inspections as required by Minnesota Law. Performs maintenance on all types of light and heavy equipment. Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
