Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design, is looking for an experienced campus planner to join our Mid-Atlantic & Northeast Buildings team.
This individual may work on public/private higher education, program work, and/or multi-use projects.Our team of talented and creative architects work closely as trusted partners with our clients throughout the design process to realize a jointly conceived vision. We offer a full range of services from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection for both full build-out, renovations and adaptive reuse projects. Our markets include commercial development, warehousing, pre K-12 and higher education, science and technology, municipal and public works agencies, offices and corporate facilities, and retail and food.Our in-house team of architects, interior designers, engineers, and planners skillfully balance design constraints with the clients' needs and desired outcome. This creates collaborative, dynamic and timeless designs. Our professionals also provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design; programming, corporate branding, standards integration, workstation specification, facilities and construction management support, energy solutions, and LEED certification. We take pride in delivering results that are innovative, sustainable and award winning.
Responsibilities
Evaluate higher education facilities, open space, and infrastructureEvaluate campus condition, capacity, utilization, usage patterns, and institutional metricsIntegrate campus data, physical condition analysis, and recommendations with institutional strategic planning and key performance indicatorsMerge cross-disciplinary data and principles to advance planning and design of complex projectsConduct research and collect data, identify relevant precedents, and develop analysis diagramsSynthesize quantitative and qualitative information to generate flexible implementation and capital planning strategiesOrganize and manage campus and community engagement exercisesGenerate planning concepts, rendered plans, and create graphicsGenerate planning reports that meet client needs regarding content, schedule, and budgetCommunicating with clients and building/maintaining those relationshipsProblem-solving for design solutionsSurveying onsite work at client facilitiesQualifications
Bachelor's degree in planning, architecture, landscape architecture, or urban designLicensed in the US in planning, architecture, and/or landscape architecture10+ years' experience leading comprehensive planning projects for colleges and universitiesUnderstanding of Higher Education academic organizational structures, workflow, and operating proceduresExperience with campus-scale assessment, analytics, diagramming, conceptualization, prioritization, and phasingExperience with Higher Education facility programming, design, and project developmentExperience with user survey methodologyAble to develop space reallocation strategiesExperience with higher education issues, trends, and facilitiesAble to identify evolving best practices, policies, and proceduresUnderstanding of planning and urban design, building typologies, transportation, land development planning, zoning codes, phasing considerations, and implementation techniquesAble to translate data, engagement, assessment, and concepts into compelling narrativesAble to develop short and long-term campus planning goals through analysisAble to work closely with othersStrong communication skillsAble to build relationships and communicate at every level of a projectAble to work independently with minimal instructionClient facing experienceExperience with l ading, coaching, and mentoring junior staffProficient/Experienced with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS, and Adobe Creative SuiteWhat We Offer
