POSITION SUMMARY: The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is ahands-on position that ensures the safe and efficient utilization of allHeavy Equipment. This position serves a critical role to theConstruction, Millwright and Production Teams by ensuring equipmentneeded across all Didion Facilities is operating safely and correctly.RESPONSIBILITIES: -Efficiently diagnoses equipment malfunctions andoperating difficulties, makes repairs and adjustments in order toachieve optimum equipment up-time. -Ensures efficient and effectivediagnosis, repair and proactive maintenance of mechanical and electricalequipment and systems. -Responsible to maintain all work orders, PO\'sand accurately makes updates to the computerized maintenance softwaresystem. -Shop planning and scheduling. -Follow a rigorous PM program.-Where required, ensure fleet is always in DOT compliance -Meet withvendors or suppliers to discuss products used in repair work. -Monitorpart inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensureadequate working conditions. Didionuses the eVerify system to confirm eligibility to work in the UnitedStates. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: -High SchoolGraduate, GED or equivalent experience is desired. -Associates degree(or equivalent technical education) in related field desired. -Steadfastadherence to all safety procedures at all times. -A positive, proactivedemeanor resulting in superior teamwork and collaboration with teammembers while demonstrating a commitment to excellence. -Prior heavyequipment maintenance experience is preferred, including: Air controlvalves, Pneumatics, Electrical wiring and trailer lights, Brake systems,Chassis, DOT inspections, Hydraulic Systems, Industrial ForkliftMaintenance, Rough Terrain Crane Maintenance -Excellent mechanicalaptitude. -Welding skills, aluminum and steel. -Strong diagnostic skills(hands-on preferred). -Class A CDL preferred -Ability to problem-solveand develop creative solutions. -Ability to operate a computer to enterwork orders, parts requests, and shop activities -Ability to read, writeand speak English fluently. -Must have own tools to perform the dutiesrequired.
