This role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing Pan European acquirer, with a strong presence in the UK, and play a major role in the execution of Product Strategy.
Reporting to Elavon’s European Product Leader and becoming a member of the European Product leadership team, the Head of SMB product performs a key role within the European product team. The successful candidate will manage a team of 8 talented analysts and will be responsible for three broad areas: SMB Portfolio and Offers in Europe, SMB Experience and SMB Partner Product Management.
SMB Portfolio and Offers Europe: The successful candidate will be leading a small team of senior product portfolio managers responsible for product portfolio strategy and delivery. Effectively this team will be advocating, defining, developing and communicating SMB strategy for our UK and Ireland region (UKI) and our Poland, Germany, Nordics region (PGN). The team will clarify, develop and deliver the overall offer to our SMB Customers in these markets.
SMB Experience: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing the overall SMB customer experience managing a small team of customer experience analysts to develop and deliver the optimum Elavon experience for our customers though the entire customer lifecycle.
SMB Partner Product Management: The successful candidate will be responsible for a team managing third party licenced products in the area of PCI, Short Term Financing solutions for customers and some other areas. The candidate will be responsible for developing the strategic roadmap with these partners and integrating them seamlessly into the overall Elavon SMB experience.
The SMB Product Leader will possess that rare combination of being both a strategic thinker and effective executer. The successful candidate will be able to develop and evolve opportunities at the highest corporate levels internally and externally and will have a strong bias for action.
The successful candidate will be responsible for defining the overall SMB experience and delivering the products and experience to market that will deliver growth for our revenue team and meets the overall corporate and channel strategy.
This is a senior management role that needs the successful candidate to work collaboratively to succeed.
Stakeholder management will be key dealing with demanding sales leaders in the regions so communication and the ability to work effectively in a cross functional setting is key.
You will be able to show previous success in commercially focused product or software roles. You will have lead in the selection and establishment of vision and strategy for product and experience as well as demonstrating the ability to ensure execution. You will have experience of managing through a matrix organization and be extremely results orientated.
Responsibilities:
Team Development and Leadership: Leadership and development of a talented team of senior product managers
Portfolio Strategy Development: Build and Develop executive buy in for the portfolio strategy at appropriate exec forums and communicate across SMB teams and in product
Senior Stakeholder Management: Develop relationships and manage expectations and align on delivery with key Business leaders in the SMB space
UX/UI Vision and execution: Develop the overall vision of the SMB experience at Elavon and create “product” offers that can be delivered through this optimum digital experience.
Managing a team that will launch and deliver Products and embed them with the relevant direct and indirect sales channels.
Focus on the delivery of the overall ISV (Independent software vendor) experience that our partners delivering SMB growth requirements
Manage develop and build lasting strategic relationships with partners where Elavon licences their service
Managing a team that will lead in carrying out market and competition analyses and identify and validate potential partners that can deliver on Elavon’s product strategy.
You will have the following skills and experience:
You will have 10+ years experience as a Senior Product Management
You have substantial experience in product management at or commercial partner management;
Driven and structured individual, balances growth with internal control and quality output
Team player, capable of building relationships with key business partners, senior management, Board of Directors and the Regulators
Being an effective culture carrier and promotor of proper conduct
Confidence and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
Strong leader in the payments industry with strong subject matter expertise and understanding of payments systems and the regulatory environment
Outstanding problem-solving skills
Superior presentation and communication skills - can sell self and ideas
You are result and solution oriented, self-reliant and customer-oriented and have a strong analytical and strategic mind-set;
You are fluent in spoken and written English
You have developed and executed Product launches
Led strategic product reviews
Experience and knowledge of the European card business is preferred
Technical Product Management experience is preferred
Managed the process of assessing selecting and implementing licensed or outsourced developed product solutions.
