  Description

  The Hangar Ops Supervisor supports the Hangar Operations Manager ensuring effective execution of all airframe (to include flight line maintenance) and structural maintenance, repair or manufacturing.

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -

  Provides leadership and management that will benefit all shop personnel and the business in a positive way

  Develops employee skill grown through effective on-the-job training or other means; identifies and communicates training needs to the Hangar Operations Manager.

  Works closely with the Hangar Operations Manager, program managers, shop leads and production control on determining internal and external work requirements, production scheduling (short and long-term) and production priorities.

  Assists with establishing the annual operational budget, determines staffing levels and identifies any capital expenditure requirements annually.

  Assists in establishing and regularly evaluating manpower and staffing requirements.

  Ensures hangar operations production requirements are effectively met and that personnel perform work with an emphasis on customer service, quality, safety and workmanship.

  Ensures daily shop administrative tasks are accomplished to include verification of employee time cards.

  Ensures regular oversight of all inspection findings and work performed/corrective action is accurately documented in the appropriate maintenance record. Performs regular review of overall work package documentation checking for accuracy of time accounting and materials used as well as assuring project schedule is met.

  Ensures that tools and equipment are well maintained, operable and accounted for. Ensures shop areas are kept clean, orderly and FOD free.

  Provide regular status reports to Hangar Operations Manager on shop and technician performance.

  Assists in conducting performance evaluations, corrective actions, plans salary actions, interviews, hires and promotes, anticipates and plans for skills and human resource requirements and develops staff to meet those needs, interprets and applies organization policies, and provides leadership toward resolving employee problems.

  Monitors and supports continuous improvement activities by utilizing Lean and continuous improvement tools striving to identify and eliminate waste in all its forms in an effort to improve quality and safety, decrease lead time and reduce cost.

  Other duties as assigned to include Hangar Operations Lead and Aircraft Maintenance and Structural Technician duties and responsibilities.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE -

  High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or advance instruction relative to technical field is preferred

  Minimum 5 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance required, emphasis on airframe/structural experience preferred

  Systems experience and understanding of the Columbia 107, Columbia 234 and like military aircraft is preferred.

  Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Required

  Certification per FAR Part 65 required; must have the potential to obtain maintenance release and inspection authorizations

  Previous aircraft maintenance experience in a FAR Part 145 repair station environment or field maintenance experience

  Supervisor or management experience preferred with demonstrated leadership skills and ability to train and coach employees

  Must be familiar with the products and processes associated with aircraft and aircraft component maintenance and manufacturing.

  Has a thorough understanding of repair station procedures, quality management systems, procedures (maintenance and manufacturing) and associated federal aviation regulations.

  Training and experience utilizing Lean methods in a production environment preferred

  Ability to work overtime and/or weekends as assigned dependent on production needs

  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

  Ability to work in a shop environment or work outdoors locally or in remote locations as needed for customer support

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be able to present ideas, concepts and proposals with a wide range of audiences at all levels both internal and external to the company

  Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment

  Conduct oneself in accordance with Company’s Core Values
