　　About the role

　　In this role you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships and developing business opportunities to grow the group, as well as providing team leadership and project prioritisation to team by providing technical expertise to ensure that project outcomes in terms of profit, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and Stantec expectations.

　　You will ensure your teams are fully utilised on projects and will work with the Project Managers and Business leaders to ensure projects are adequately resourced to meet project requirements and that the team is trained and appropriately skilled.

　　The Group Leader position is a function, in addition to technical/ project contribution role as Senior Principal Engineer.

　　Day to day tasks would involve:

　　Responsible for design of complex projects, requiring specialized knowledge, including technical preparation and coordination of the design, specifications, technical documentation etc. to ensure compliance with project requirements.

　　Support marketing and business development team in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews, and supporting negotiations for project contracts.

　　Support the Business Leader with monitoring and reporting on the performance of the team and in preparing annual BC business plans.

　　Ensure allocated projects and proposals are planned, programmed, and appropriately managed to meet or exceed client expectations.

　　Provide guidance to team members, as an internal technical expert.

　　To be successful for this role you'll need:

　　Tertiary qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering with a demonstrated 15 years' experience in the delivery of multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects.

　　Charted Professional Engineer (CPEng)

　　Experience in bridge design/engineering as well as other structural design projects, including bridge and road infrastructure, temporary works etc.

　　Analysis and modelling experience in a range of software packages, e.g. Microstran, Spacegass, Strand 7, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design (ASBD), MIDAS civil.

　　Strong working knowledge of Australian codes and standards, regulatory requirements, guidelines, current trends and legislation in order to deliver innovative and practical solutions.
