A Place to Be Proud.ResponsibilitiesPerforms a variety of landscape tasks: grading, seeding, sodding, rototilling, planting, fertilizing, pruning, spraying, weeding, etc.Mows/trims/edges lawn areas observing pertinent safety regulations.Removes Hospital hard trash and keeps the grounds free of litter.Sweeps/cleans Hospital streets, parking lots, garages, sidewalks and entrances. Operates power washer, blowers, vacuums and street sweepers.Reports for ice/snow removal as called. Accountable for clearing primary areas. Applies ice melting materials.Performs first level maintenance on gasoline and diesel equipment. Checks oil, lubricates and makes minor repairs.Maintains paved surfaces: patches blacktop & repairs concrete sidewalks.Proactive in identifying problem areas in the landscape, recommending viable solutions and carrying out steps to resolve issues.Collaborates with co-workers, contractors and staff to provide high impact seasonal color display.Compliant with Hospital/Departmental Policies and Procedures.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Education:High School graduateRequired & Preferred Experience:Six (6) months job related experience and some knowledge of grounds maintenance operationsValid driver's license requiredOhio Nurserymen Landscape Installer Certification is desirableDesired but not required:Certification from a trade programMiscellaneous installation/repair certifications from vendorsMinimum Physical Requirments:Walking ConstantlyKneeling ConstantlyBending ConstantlyStooping ConstantlyStanding ConstantlyPushing/Pulling ConstantlyReaching FrequentlyLif
