As a Grants Specialist Coordinator for the Minnesota Department of Education you will analyze, recommend, and assist in the development of systems and policies to coordinate and administer grant initiatives. Your duties will include:
Assisting programs with the development of competitive grant opportunity documents, screening and reviewing forms to ensure they meet program goals, as well as state and federal procurement regulations;
Oversee the competitive process from development of materials through final decisions, assisting with coordinating the review, facilitating reviews, compiling results and sharing results with programs;
Reviewing federal law and state legislation, regulations, policies, and rules affecting grants management and procurement of grants;
Developing grant documents for use for single source, legislatively named grants and continuation grant awards;
Participating in meetings related to the development of grant opportunity materials, and discussion related to general grant procedures, agency goals and directives, information sharing and new processes.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years of professional experience as a grants administrator
OR
A bachelor’s degree and 2 years of professional experience as a grants administrator
Experience must include:
Development and implementation of the Grant Request for Proposal (RFP) processPreferred Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in grant principles and practices sufficient to analyze and oversee grant development activities of agency staff, program coordinators and project managers.
Experience with interpretation of state and federal laws, rules, policies and regulations regarding grants
Experience administering competitive funding.
Experience and knowledge with CFR 200 Uniform Administrative Requirements (i.e. Uniform Grant Guidance)
