The Opportunity
The purpose of the Caribbean Resilient Economies and Sectors Activity is to reduce constraints to climate and disaster finance, and increase investments in climate and disaster resilience across priority sectors. As the Grants Analyst, you will support the Grants Manger in administering the project’s grants and ensuring compliance with USAID regulations, as well as local standards, laws, regulations, and administrative policies. You will perform administrative tasks to ensure smooth disbursements of grant funds and ensure that appropriate administrative procedures are carried out effectively. You will report to the Grants Manager, with technical guidance and indirect supervision from the Deputy Chief of Party.
Core Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Grants and Procurement Manager, collaborate with the Private Sector Lead and Resilience Investment Managers to ensure effective and timely communications with Caribbean RESET team members and grantees.
Maintain the grant tracking system to monitor the timely and correct execution of all grant agreements.
Make periodic visits to grantees to address any administrative issues and determine whether new equipment has been completely installed and is operational.
Review grantee invoices and ensure that all payment requests are supported and justified by appropriate documentation and that deliverables have been approved by the appropriate technical staff member.
Ensure proper filing of grant documentation, following compliance and auditing requirements.
Oversee and ensure the successful and compliant close-out of grant activities.
Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party, and Grants Manager.
What We Value
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field.
At least two years of experience in working in agriculture sector or administering grants, tracking project budget activities, or performing monitoring activities.
Knowledge of and experience with USAID rules and procedures related to grants strongly preferred.
Experience working in the Eastern Southern Caribbean strongly preferred.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly, and work independently.
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous workstreams efficiently.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to set priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent listening, written, and spoken English skills.
