VERVIEWWe are seeking a motivated graduate intern to contribute to research projects related to wearable sensors for continuous health and human performance monitoring for the Department of Defense and commercial health sectors.
It is imperative that the intern maintains a safe work environment and follows common laboratory safety policies. Productive and professional collaboration with laboratory and other personnel is also required.
Stipend -- up to $3600/per monthMust work 3 consecutive monthsHousing will be provided at the Wright State University student facilitiesMust complete the internship between 1 April 2024-31 March 2025WHAT YOU WILL DOThe ideal candidate will support the project objective by: fabricating and validating microneedle sensor patches that contain luminescent analyte-sensing dyes for detection of tissue oxygenation and at least two of the following electrolytes: Na^+^, K^+^, Ca^2+^, and Cl^-^; assessing two previously demonstrated optical microneedle sensor approaches: synthetic microneedles and degradable silk-based microneedles; and supporting identification of analyte-sensing dyes, incorporating such dyes into microneedles, and evaluating their optical sensing performance.
