Job Description
We recognise the value in having people with a variety of backgrounds, experience and skills in our business. That means the role requirements here should be seen as a guide, not a checklist. If you have more, less or different experiences, but really relevant skills, we’d love to hear from you.
We work flexibly and will help you to find a healthy balance of remote working and time in our fantastic Southampton office, collaborating, taking part in events and getting to know people that makes working with us so rewarding. We welcome the opportunity to discuss flexible hours.

To enable Corporate Shipbuilding to be successful, we are looking for a Director of Global HESS & Operational Readiness that will deploy a strategy to develop knowledge and commitment to the Corporation Global HESS culture (Health, Environment, Safety and Security) within the department and support readiness to compliant operations of all our new ships.
Joining as part of the Technical Team in a Director role you'll be at the forefront of newbuilding activities, playing a vital role in championing Health, Environment, Safety & Security (HESS) practices across Corporate Shipbuilding.

You will lead the strategy to develop a robust HESS culture within our organisation, becoming a beacon of expertise in HESS systems, procedures, and organisational matters. Leading representation in Corporate Working Groups and heading our compliance efforts, you'll also drive ship acquisition aligned with Corporate Standards.
Your expertise in Ethics & Compliance, audits, and internal investigations will be paramount, as you guide pre-delivery assessments and execute action plans. You’ll be the bridge between our brand operations and maritime organisations, guaranteeing smooth operations readiness.
Our role categories range from CCS15 (entry level) to CCS1 (Senior Vice President) so you can clearly see internal development opportunities. This role is a CCS05 and is offered on a full time basis, with 60% of your working time in a rolling month spent in our Southampton office.
