About Global Director of Ideas Exchange

  Investments is a dynamic business with c.1,000 colleagues globally operating within the WTW enterprise. With approximately $5 trillion of assets under advice and $160 billion of assets under management servicing c.1,300 clients - we are one of the largest investment solution firms in the world. Today, our core client base is primarily DB and DC pension funds and we are diversifying into new markets including endowments and foundations (E&F) and wealth management.

  Ideas Exchange (IX) is our flagship event series designed and run specifically to engage investment industry stakeholders, with a focus on the asset management community. The events are focused on exchanging ideas and collaborating to solve the big problems facing asset owners and assisting asset managers across the industry to be more successful. Sessions provide transparency into WTW and how we are investing $160 billion of client capital on a delegated basis and advising on a total of $5 trillion. iX features thought-provoking sessions, engagement opportunities and networking.

  This role can be based remotely out of the UK or US with some global travel and flexibility in time-zone required.

  The Role

  The scope of this role will be to own the global iX annual event series (including the virtual conferences), from concept to execution. In the role of Global Director, you will:

  Work with the iX Global Steering Committee to develop and own the Commercial event strategy, spanning sponsorship, pricing, registration targets and management information workstreams.

  Work with WTW’s central Marketing team to develop event marketing strategy, spanning communications, registrations, social media and brand. Represent the WTW brand appropriately throughout, maximizing exposure and managing risk.

  Own the design, execution and monitoring of formal project management plans for each event, ensuring achievement of key milestones, mitigation of barriers to success and identification of interdependencies.

  Coordinate a global approach to the development and promotion of compelling event Sponsorship packages including early-stage contact management, with senior follow up where needed.

  Coordinate the approach to generating registrations for the global package and/or individual events, including identification of target lists, initial calls to Asset Managers and subsequent liaison internally to ensure senior level follow up where needed.

  Work in collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders, including the Global Head of Manager Research, CIO, Region Leaders and ultimately the Events working group, to coordinate the development of the content and production of all event deliverables including plenary and breakout content.

  Leverage the content developed and regional attendance of WTW subject matter specialists across our broader client and prospect list, to help retain and grow revenues, through the development of parallel client events where appropriate.

  Leverage the content of the event to maximise follow-on projects with attendees.

  Work with specialist groups within WTW to develop multi-media assets such as video production, digital signage and event run sheets.

  Source external speakers across regions for a range of formats such as panel discussions and fireside chats, including clients, journalists and sponsors.

  Liaise with internal and external SME teams as required throughout the production of each global event such as central WTW events team and specialist external agency support.

  Ensure cost efficiencies with suppliers are achieved through leverage of global scale.

  Manage the central capture of conference materials and branding assets.

  Contribute to generation of client satisfaction survey, analysis of results and identification of trends.

  Provide regular Management Information updates to key stakeholders.

  Maintain relationships with a range of senior stakeholders

  The Responsibilities

  Director level, or comparable

  At least 7 years’ professional experience

  Experience with business development campaigns

  Some prior experience managing complex events or projects, from inception to completion, preferably within an Investments, Financial Services or Professional Services setting

  Experience of chairing and facilitating meetings, managing multiple stakeholders and building relationships with senior leaders and B2B

  Effective project management, communication and analytical skills with a good attention to detail

  Willingness to travel and regularly work on projects across time zones

  A creative approach, with advanced MS Office skills (especially in Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

  Thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced and deadline driven environment

  Compensation and Benefits (US)

  Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role.

  Compensation

  The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is 75,000 - 150,000 USD. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
