　　Des Moines Public Schools is seeking a Middle School Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the 2024-2025 school year.Job Summary:The middle school assistant coach supports the head coach in carrying out coaching responsibilities for the assigned team. They instruct participants in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary to realize a high degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student athlete shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulization and internalization of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, self-confidence and sportsmanship. Assist the High School Varsity Head Coach in the alignment and implementation of systems and skill development regarding the athletic program.Successful candidates for this position will possess:1. Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization2. Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills3. Coaching and/or leadership experience4.
