The Systems Engineering (SE) Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).
Job Summary:
SE is looking for a Chief Engineer (CE) and Technical Director (TD) with the technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class Land and Air Defense Systems. Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LWMDS) department leads all aspects of Systems Engineering that drive the development of complex systems to support the Raytheon Land and Air Defense Systems (LADS) mission area from our Tewksbury MA, and Andover MA locations. The LWMDS department supports Raytheon by cultivating a world-class group of systems thinkers who work together as a team to architect technical solutions to some of the world’s toughest challenges. Key technical domains include Radar Systems and Sensor Netting, Effector Systems, Battle Management, Command and Control, Communications, Network Design, Battlespace Integration, and Interoperability for Domestic and International customers.
The Germany Patriot CE/TD will be directly responsible for all country capability roadmaps, system analysis, concept development, requirements development, hardware design, software design, integration thread development, system performance to include integration and test, and integrated sustainment plans on the Germany Patriot program and future Germany Patriot follow-on contract awards. The Germany Patriot CE/TD will interface directly with the German Patriot customer, NSPA customer, COMLOG joint-venture, United States Government (USG), Raytheon Land & Air Defense Systems leadership, and the Global Patriot Product Line leadership.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
Establish and manage a program vision, strategy and goals to align the Program with the Customer and facilitate conflict resolution.
Ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across all Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Cross Product Teams (CPTs), and disciplines within the Program to cost, schedule, technical requirements.
Primary program technical point of contact with the customer senior technical counterparts and internal senior program management and engineering leadership.
Provide technical advisory disposition for Export / Import (EXIM) compliance.
10% Domestic/International travel
Basic Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 12 years of prior relevant experience.
A U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Global Patriot Program (or similar program) system design, development, integration/verification, production, and sustainment.
Demonstrated experience in strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture in the Defense Industry.
Direct experience leadings international programs and international supplier’s/partner’s engineering execution.
Direct experience with Army IAMD Systems of Systems (SoS).
Direct experience in concepts of operations development and/or design of system level architecture.
Direct experience managing resources with annual budgets exceeding $25 million.
Direct experience supporting proposals with annual engineering run rates exceeding $25 million.
Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management.
Demonstrated experience with globally distributed engineering execution organizations (CONUS and OCONUS).
Direct experience with international industrial participation and technology transfer.

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
