Rotating schedule
The general utility production worker will be responsible for general duties in the production department involving physical handling of product, materials, and supplies used in the process of making fruit juice products. The general utility production operator plays role in the identification of performance issues and actively contributes to the resolution of problems and the continuous improvement of plant performance. This is accomplished through adhering to prescribed equipment operating parameters, closely monitoring the performance of the process and packaging equipment, and taking action to reduce occurrences of both efficiency and material losses.
Responsibilities
Assisting in the packaging process
Assisting in the blend process
Operating multiple pieces of production equipment within processing and packaging operations.
Maintain accurate production records as required.
Understanding, monitoring and remediating machine malfunction alarms and ability to manage solutions efficiently and effectively.
Monitor equipment and identify incorrect performance and implement first-level troubleshooting and corrective measures.
Assist maintenance technicians in the completion of corrective and preventive maintenance.
Perform quality checks and accurately document as required.
Perform day to day plant sanitation tasks, execute master sanitation plan, and suggest/implement improvements.
Ensure work area is maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion.
Work directly with cross-departmental personnel to problem-solve to ensure maximum production efficiencies.
Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and work area including immediately correcting or reporting safety issues to your supervisor.
Read, understand, and comply with standard operating procedures, Material Safety Data Sheets, and follow safety requirements inclusive of Lock-out / Tag Out procedures.
Cross train on specific jobs and then back fill production associates that are absent.
Use computers or other devices to input manufacturing data.
Disposing of waste and recyclables.
Order picking in warehouse frozen and chilled environments as required.
Follow plant GMP policies.
Provide and complete all documentation as required per current standard operating procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Fully comply with food safety, safety, security, environment, quality, and all plant policies and procedures
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
1-3 year of general work experience.
Prior food production and manufacturing machine operation experience preferred.
Previous experience within high-speed industrial environment.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Forklift Certified or ability to become certified in a reasonable timeframe. Previous powered forklift experience preferred.
Ability to operate manufacturing equipment.
Ability to work shift work including rotating/nonrotating days, midnights, afternoon shifts, and weekends.
Ability to work 8-hour, or 12-hour shifts or required necessary hours to meet the business requirements.
Ability to work in a freezer environment.
Ability to work in a chilled environment.
Ability to stand for extended periods, walking, lifting, twisting, climbing, crouching, bending, reaching, and stooping.
Ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
Excellent Manual and finger dexterity.
Ability to grip, grasp, and squeeze materials, parts, hand tools, and products.
Ability to work on multiple levels, such as catwalks, ladders, etc. and ability to work in extreme temperatures.
Proficient in the use of computers to input manufacturing data.
Must have the ability and willingness to be cross trained.
Ability to perform all tasks in a safe manner while ensuring achievement of safety, quality, efficiency, and cost objectives.
Ability to trouble-shoot production-related problems.
