To provide maintenance and grounds care to the campus of North Hennepin Community College.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of:
Different Types of flooring/floor covering sufficient to determine proper methods of maintenance and appropriate cleaning methods, materials, agents and equipment
Chemical cleaning agents such as ammonia, bleach(s), scouring agents and soaps to select the agent(s), handle and apply, and dispose of safely.
Methods, tools, and equipment used in maintenance sufficient to use effectively and operate safely and to make minor reports.
Ability to:
Follow simple oral and written instructions.
Perform assigned tasks with limited work direction.
Keep simple records.
Physical health and endurance sufficient to perform work functions
o (Ability to lift at least 50 lbs., lifting, standing, stooping and pulling).
Preferred Qualifications
Good work habits, self-motivation.
Ability to work well with other maintenance workers.
Must be able to organize work and manage time.
Common sense and good judgement are essential for this position.
He/she must also have a working knowledge of circuit breakers boxes and fire alarm systems.
Incumbent has the responsibility and obligation to be at work as scheduled whenever possible.
Additional Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State‘s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
