The Assistant Finance Manager will primarily cover assisting in the financial management of certain real estate assets and investment holding companies held by the Neptune Fund (“Neptune” or the “Fund.”)
The role will be based in Luxembourg and will, inter alia, require interacting with third party property accountants and internal and external administration resource as well as liaising with global investors, to ensure the timely and accurate compliance with deadlines for monthly financial reporting, statutory reporting as well as tax, VAT and other regulatory filing requirements. They may also assist with the acquisition and disposal of assets.
A limited amount of travel may be required, mainly between London, Luxembourg and Frankfurt.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities as Assistant Finance Manager of Neptune:
Financial reporting
Day to day accounting matters of two of the Lux holdcos
Review and analysis of finance property reports from third party providers
Providing support to third party providers
Review of transactions at entity holding level
Ensuring finance reports are maintained under relevant GAAP
Preparation / review of NAV statements and supporting calculations
Ensuring financial information is correctly uploaded into the necessary general ledger systems
Review of finance reports to investors
Responding to queries from investors in a timely and accurate manner
Play a key role in the annual audit as part of the wider team (answering some audit queries, assisting with audit planning)
Operations
Interact with appropriate internal teams on any banking, company secretarial, legal, treasury, risk issues or projects
Interact with external services providers on operational matters – company secretary, valuers, legal counsel, tax advisors, etc.
Ensure compliance with bank loan covenants and review of bank compliance certificates
Prepares materials for and attends Management Company Board and Investor Advisory Committee meetings as appropriate
Cash / debt management
Monitor bank transactions and balances, and forecast cashflow/capital requirements
Arrange loan drawdowns from external banks
Preparation / review of loan compliance covenants
Support treasury functions with banking relationships and the procurement and re-financing of external debt
Tax
Interact with tax accountants and other external providers to ensure timely and accurate filing and payment of all taxes
Help manage and provide review of annual tax compliance
Review of tax compliance for investors as appropriate
Assist Head of Finance on tax and structuring projects
Other
Provide assistance to Fund Manager and Head of Finance on transactions
Manage and mentor Assistance Finance Managers as appropriate
Ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Involvement in new projects, as appropriate, as well as the project to transition to Yardi.
Technical Skills & Qualifications Required
Part qualified accountant (ACCA or equivalent) with strong academic record is desirable, although not essential for a candidate who has the relevant skills and work experience
Good accounting knowledge (IFRS, LUX GAAP)
Ability to understand financial and structuring models
Competency in Excel
Previous experience using Yardi is an advantage but not essential
Fluency in both spoken and written English is essential. The additional ability to communicate in Spanish and/or other European languages would be an advantage.

Team player - Close liaison with fund management and other areas of the finance and operations team, as well as external advisers. Support the other members of the team in their relationships with various onshore and offshore third party suppliers
Strong communication and organisational skills
The ability to work to fixed deadlines
Result and deadline driven - Use own initiative to identify any problems and deliver solutions
