Role and Responsibilities
CAE is looking for a talented senior software developer with a focus on Cloud platforms, IoT (Internet of Things) and Data Acquisition. By joining our team, you will have the opportunity to develop and improve a distributed system deployed worldwide that connects CAE simulators from various Training Centers to a centralized platform in the Cloud: CAE Sentinel.
This data acquisition platform regroups multiple services used internally and externally by CAE clients. It supports other teams at CAE for storing, accessing, and consuming data.
You will contribute to the data pipelines and solutions that form the cornerstone of these services and help define the product themselves, from the requirements up to the delivery of the user-experience with our web applications.
Your work will involve the following activities/aspects:
Cloud Architecture / Design patterns and techniques
Develop APIs, micro-services, and data-access layers
Develop the User Interface, with support from UX experts
Infrastructure and deployment
Share technical findings with the team
Your responsibilities will be:
Design and document solutions
Code the approved solutions within appropriate delays
Implement automated tests
Contribute to the code review activities
Provide guidance to junior developers
Apply the DevOps process
Actively participate to the team meetings
Our team applies the Agile methodology with 3-week sprints, and we follow the DevOps principles to deploy our services to our clients.
The main technologies and programming languages are:
Microsoft Azure – Main Cloud platform to host our solutions
Angular (v13+) – Main programming language for the frontend
Docker Containers – Edge Computing
C# (.NET 6) – Main programming language for the backend
Azure SQL, Blobs, Tables, Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, Redis – numerous storage solutions
The main tools you will work with are:
Visual Studio 2022 – Backend code
Visual Studio Code – Frontend code & deployment
Microsoft DevOps – Sprint activities, Pull Requests, Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD)
Microsoft Teams – Communication, Virtual meetings
Lucidchart – Architecture and design diagrams
Our ideal candidate has:
Has a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or equivalent experience
Has at least 5 years of software development experience in the industry
Has experience with Object-oriented programming in C# or java (mandatory)
Is familiar with automated testing
Works well in a team
Is autonomous and reliable
Wishes to learn and improve, is open to feedback
Shows initiative and leadership
(Advantage) Has experience with Angular
(Advantage) Has already worked with a Cloud platform (ex: Azure, AWS, etc)
