Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Norwalk, Iowa is a southern suburb in the Des Moines, Iowa metropolitan area. We are known for knowing our neighbors and enjoying a great quality of life! Our location produces high quality precooked egg patties as well as various French Toast products. Responsibilities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure quality, sanitation, and production records are legible, accurate, complete, maintained, and easily retrievable. Update and maintain facility batch and quality related records. Assist in the drafting, revision, and maintenance of plant standard operating procedures. Assist in the tracking of Production Specification Change Requests. Participate in plant food safety/quality inspections, in-process inspections, mock recalls, label audits, HACCP audits, and thermometer calibrations as required. Maintain quality related manuals and records (i.e. SQF training, batch records, pest control documentation, customer specific files, etc.), ICP, HACCP/Preventive control documents. Assist in investigations in response to customer concerns or other quality related deviations to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions. Assist in the management of quality hold activities, including non-conforming product inventories. Expected to adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP and HACCP guidelines, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained in order to maintain SQF Quality Certification. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety. Assist in the job responsibilities of the QA supervisor. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and in group situations. Ability to respond to questions from internal/external customers/vendors at all levels including management. PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS: One year certificate from college or technical school or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Proficient communication skills. Knowledge of company and regulatory policies, procedures, and philosophies. Proficient organizational and time management skills. Basic proficiency using computer programs for collecting and analyzing data and writing procedures and reports. Basic proficiency using statistical and quality related problem solving tools. Demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking and problem-solving. Ability to participate in cross-functional teams. Data collection, analysis, and reporting. Basic administrative duties. Ability to type
