　　The mission of the Division for Blind Services (DBS) is to work in partnership with Texans who are blind or visually impaired to reach their goals. The Food Service AM Rounds Cook (Food Service Manager III) is selected by and reports to the Food Service Supervisor. The position is located at 4800 N Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas.

　　The Food Service AM Rounds Cook performs highly complex (senior-level) food service work. Provides services to students and staff that promote the Texas Confidence Builder's philosophy and facilitate empowerment through assisting students to achieve emotional adjustment, mastery of alternative skills, ability to cope with the sighted world and the ability to blend into society. Works under limited supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

　　GENERAL DUTIES:-performing advanced food preparation work and trains other staff and students in doing the same.-assisting supervisor and team leader in training staff on new equipment or procedures.-overseeing the work of food service staff; planning, preparing, seasoning, and cooking food; training other staff and students to do the same.-ensuring prescribed sanitation and safety rules are maintained and the preparation of reports are completed.-maintaining inventories and records of food consumption.-making recommendations for improvement of current systems.-implementing new foo service-related systems and procedures.-Participates in an extended blindfold-immersion training program.-Performs related work as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:-Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred plus two years of experience in food service work. Experience and education may be substituted for one another.Work hours may vary depending on consumer training needs and could include evenings and weekends. The ideal candidate possesses stamina to work standing for the majority of each work shift.
