Under the direction of the Fleet Manager, a Fleet Mechanic team member repairs and overhauls automobiles, trucks, and other automotive vehicles. Repairs are tied largely to preventative maintenance (PM) and general troubleshooting but may also include collision damage repair.
What Will You be Doing?
Technical/Mechanical:
Maintains proficiency in the diagnosis and repair of all assigned equipment
Assists lead fleet mechanic in the completion of project work
Performs PM troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on assigned equipment
Maintains proficiency in all aspects of PM
Maintains a high level of skill in the following;
Repairing and inspecting refrigeration units, bodies, and lift gates
Troubleshooting vehicle computer electronic systems
Testing, rebuilding, and calibrating of fuel injection systems
Repairing and overhauling brake systems
Repairing or replacing damaged tires
Washes and fuels equipment as requested
Performs other duties as assigned, delegated or required
Administrative:
Able to communicate courteously and professionally across departments, customers and vendors regarding vehicle repairs and other shop business
Assists in the completion of required paperwork including vehicle write-ups, work orders, and time cards
Assists the Lead Fleet Mechanic in compiling and maintaining all documents
Job Information
Full-time position / 40 hours per week
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 2:00pm – 10:30pm; Friday 12:00pm-8:30pm
What Experience, Skills, and Attributes Will You Need to Be Successful?
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong knowledge of wiring diagrams and diagnostic trees for automobiles, tractors, and forklifts
Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
Ability to read and comprehend service information
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
What Do We Offer?
Current Employee Hourly Pay Rate Schedule: $30.75 to $34.25 per hour (Starting pay is dependent on qualifications; Target start rate is $30.75 per hour)
