The Performance Systems and Analytics (PSA) Group of our client strives to provide our customers with decision-ready analytics from previously inaccessible data. PSA is seeking a Firmware Engineer II to help develop, build, test, and employ our small, low power embedded systems. An ideal candidate would be very skilled in Firmware development with good experience in wireless radios. Candidates should be comfortable working independently or with minimal guidance in the lab and development environment; able to help develop requirements and data pipeline; create prototype firmware, test on physical hardware, collect data, and analyze data in a popular analysis software (MATLAB, Python, etc).

Experience & Qualifications
• BS (EE, Computer Engineering)
• 2-5 years experience
• Very strong skill in programming with
o C, C++
o Proficient in PYTHON, LabVIEW, or MATLAB
o Using open-source APIs and libraries
• Very strong understanding of one (firm understanding of the other):
o Wired communication protocols (USB, UART, SPI, I2C, CAN)
o Wireless protocols (Zigbee, WiFi, BLE, etc.)
• Very strong use of code documentation
• Extensive experience with common Version Control systems (SVN, Github, Mercurial, etc.)
• Strong use of common measurement tools (Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, etc.)
• Expertise in analyzing and debugging digital communication and analog circuits
• Some experience in electrical schematics and PCB layouts
• Strong communication, both written and oral, especially technical writing
Bonus:
• MS (EE, CS, Computer Engineering)
• Significant design of electrical schematics and PCB layouts

DAY TO DAY: Acting a service worker within the Electrical team, supporting each departments projects for any electrical, firmware expertise
