Seagate's Longmont Design Center is hiring a Firmware/Software Engineer inthe Test Process and Firmware Engineering Organization. This is an excitingopportunity to get involved with new product development.The Firmware Engineerwill be responsible for developing and maintaining drive level embedded realtime code, host side python code, and web-based tools driving engineeringefficiency.
About the role - you will:
Design, Develop, Test and Integration new Test Process features into HardDisc Drive productsWork closely with HDD Test Process engineers to develop tools that will beinstrumental in the code development life-cycleGet involved in challenging projects and gain exposure to software engineeringbest practicesParticipate in requirements gathering and be responsible for developing,debugging and deploying these toolsContribute to cross functional teamsPresent recommendations to the team
About you:
Experience using code development tools (emulators, trace, versioncontrol, compilers, linkers, analyzers).Agile / SCRUM methodologiesC/C++, Python and Object-oriented experienceExperience with Source code control systems such as Perforce
Your experience includes:
Base knowledge and experience working with embedded firmware and/or Pythoncode, experience developing (design, implementation, debug).Candidate should be hands-on with strong ability to debug hardware /firmware issues while deploying diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, busanalyzers, and emulation systems - all directed towards identifying failureroot cause and driving corrective action.This position requires strong written and oral communication skills forcoordination with the extended team including engineering groups (servo,read/write, firmware) and communicating product issues and status tomanagementBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical and ComputerEngineering, Computer Science or equivalent degree.
Location:
Colorado's 2021 Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (SB 19-085) requires weinform you of the estimated base salary range for this position: $63,000- $83,000. Actual salary range is based on fair market value of the rolein the geography in which you live based on the requirements of the job andyour skills. This posted salary range is a good faith and reasonableestimate, and Seagate reserves the right to adjust this range depending onthe qualifications of the selected candidate.
