The Financial Analyst is a member of the MTM Transit Finance team with responsibilities for: contract analysis, profitability analysis, budget/forecast analysis, client reporting, pricing analysis, and accounts receivable; all of which revolve around adhering to strict deadlines and providing accurate and pertinent analysis/information.
Essential Job Functions:
Conduct contract, budget and profitability analysisAssist with developing and creating more automated financial analyticsManage contract analysis, profitability analysis, budget/forecasting analysis, client reporting and accounts receivableParticipate and assist in execution of Plan Improvement/Financial Review meetings with Regional/Program Directors, Operations, and various other department representatives to drive forward cost-saving opportunities and financial understanding of associated plan/contract financials, from both an actual and a budget perspectiveAnalyze factors driving any significant variances in revenue or expenses from prior month, budget/forecast, or other contract/plan/state expectationsResearch any discrepancies identified within different operational expenses at a plan-levelAssist in monthly forecasting and yearly budgeting of company-wide revenue and expensesUpdate and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual financial reportingUnderstand functional business processes to create highly detailed and flexible pricing modelsEnsure quality and consistent delivery of pricing models in response to RFP requestsMonitor for accurate completion of time-sensitive pricing requestsProvide timely client invoicing/billingComplete, book, and review monthly revenue accrual entries, along with account reconciliations/certifications, in alignment with month-end close deadlinesAssist with managing cash collectionEstablish solid rapport with the different business units within the company to increase interdepartmental communication and input into performing research and analysisAssist with managing team workloads as needed to ensure deadlines are metPerform other special projects as assigned by managementLocation: This is a hybrid role of work from and in office at our St. Louis area locations.
Experience, Education and Certifications:
Required:
Bachelors degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Business, or AnalyticsMinimum 1-3 years experience in a Finance or Accounting rolePrevious data analysis experienceSkills Needed:
Advanced experience with MS Excel (can perform complex functions and pivot tables)Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize work and meet established deadlines and goalsIntermediate skills in Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning, and/or a similar financial system and EPM software preferredStrong and accurate data analysis skills, with the ability to find truth within data setsKnowledge of general accounting processes and proceduresAbility to hold other departments accountable for action items in various meetingsWorks well independently while simultaneously demonstrating effective analytical/problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain high level of ethics and confidentialityAbility to multitask in a sometimes-rapid paced environmentExcellent communication skillsPossess the ski l to adapt and learn on the fly given frequent changes of course towards requests and researchExcellent presentation skillsBenefits:
