Job Summary
This position performs the assigned accounting functions requiring the application of accounting principles and practices for GKN Aerospace. This position is responsible for all accounting, treasury related and statutory matters for the US Civil reporting units. This role will be responsible for all major accounting services covering (e.g. GL, AP, AR, Indirect Taxes) and where appropriate statutory matters.
Job Responsibilities
Establishes, modifies, documents and coordinates the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures for all US Civil sites (shared services)
Processes full-cycle AP and AR within multi ERP systems
Supports organization with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
Assists with both internal and external audits , balance sheet reviews, and executes compliance requirements
Supports Reporting Unit(s) physical inventory count and corresponding reconciliation
Assists with journal vouchers within multi ERP systems
Identification and implementation of continuous improvements activities while standardizing across all US Civil sites
Supports with Fixed Asset controls including CapEx PO’s, invoice, and cash flow tracking
Control owner relating to the integrity of business accounts and ledgers
Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the company’s goals and objectives
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in accounting or equivalent experience required.
3 to 5 years accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, Aerospace experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
GKN Experience
Specific experience in both cost and general accounting disciplines.
Understanding of generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP) and all related legislation and regulation.
Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
Ability to create formal documents and conduct management presentations.
